A Spa Make-Over Bachelor’s Party

No, I did not get the title wrong. I did put the words Bachelor’s Party and make-over together in one statement, and that’s the exact topic for this article: planning for a bachelor party that involves face masks and peels rather than booze and lap dances (at least not at first).

Sounds too gay? Not really!

There’s a theory going around that tells us: men are more vain than women. While this can spur some heated debate, there is no doubt that the world’s sexiest men have at least one facial and some plucking a few times a month! So you thought Brad Pitt was just born with that gorgeous complexion huh?

The objective is to give the bachelor and his guy friends the time to feel all the benefits of being pampered, massaged and exfoliated with just them and the attendants around. This way, they are free to preen and have their precious mirror time without emasculating themselves in front of their girlfriends or wives.

The Agenda

Rent out a spa room or hold the party in the bachelor’s house (with rented spa beds). Find attendants who will be discreet and inconspicuous. I would suggest girls who mean business; experienced and professional massage therapist who are there to massage not to flirt. An experienced dermatologist, such as those from our sponsor Martin Sands can come to give constructive advice on blackheads and pimples to anyone who asks.

Food and Drinks

The activities might be delicate, but these men’s appetites are not. When the clock says lunch time or dinner, you can be sure these men will stand up from their massage cots/exfoliating baths to wolf down the food on the table. Fruits and vegetables are good for dessert and appetizers, but bring in a hefty serving of fried chicken with them. And, all the drinks they can consume.

After Pampering Activities

This is when a mock massage therapist can enter a big birthday box and say “ta-daaa”. With the men properly sensitized by their massages and scrubs, their senses will be too. Who said this bachelor party will be devoid of the fun of other typical bachelor’s parties?

Have fun!!!

Some Lessons in Business and Manpower Management

While it is true that a party planner can be just your ordinary woman by day, doing shopping, browsing the wares like any regular girl, in her business, she is queen. More than a ruler, she is the driving force that anchors her team and keeps everyone moving. She oils the machine, fires up the engines, inspires her employees and with a gentle hand, helps everyone who needs some guidance.

A party planner won’t quit in the midst of chaos. She will not balk at challenges and when trouble ensues, she is stoic and reserved, as if everything is under control. And, to any onlooker, things are ALL under control with her in charge. This is how she gets her clients’ trust. Her attitude of being on top of things will calm the most frantic client, and even the most hysterical mother-of-the-bride.

Anyone who is driven can lead a team, and while a background in management will help a lot, most of the leadership potential and skills come from actual experience. Longevity in this business of people management means being able to make things happen. There’s a wall that has to be scaled, and the leader of the pack (you) must be the first to try. Thinking out of the box, listening to clients’ needs, thinking 3 steps ahead of everyone can be tiring, but those who are driven will always find a way. Always.
