Simple Corn Dog Recipe for Quick Snack Parties

Categories: Appetizers

There are times when you are too busy to prepare a decent meal for you and your friends. Snack bites are not difficult to do and you may even have the ingredients for some delectable treats right there in your cupboard! Here’s a recipe for a simple corn dog snack. This party snack is for six people, and is perfect for tea parties, family members’ birthdays or school recess.

What you will need

6 pieces frankfurters
half cup yellow corn meal
a cup of sifted all-purpose flour
one teaspoon salt
one-fourth teaspoon baking powder
one cup milk (low fat)
one large egg
vegetable oil for deep frying

What you need to do:

1. Pat dry the frankfurters with paper towels.
2. In a bowl whisk together the dry ingredients (corn meal, flour, salt, and baking powder)
3. In another bowl mix the milk and egg until thoroughly blended
4. In a deep fry wok heat the oil (approximately 3 to 4 inches depth) to 375 degrees F
5. cover a frankfurter in the batter until coated completely.
6. Fry until browned (around 2 to 3 minutes).

Note that…

  • Two to three frankfurters can be fried at a time.
  • You must drain the cooked corn dogs on paper towels before serving
  • Cook the remaining corn dogs when the oil has been heated to the apropriate temperature

Holiday diet tip: If you eat too much during the holidays, you can always avail of a good diet program to get rid of the excess fat you may have accumulated. We recommend Hydroxycut, an effective fat loss program for holiday food-loving dieters.
