Mementos of Childhood: Kids Furnitures and Memories
If you’re like most moms, you must love picking out kids’ playroom and bedroom furniture with your kids. Furniture shopping has a certain appeal. It forces you to see the room in your house differently, including its dimensions and flaws. This makes shopping for accents and furnitures so exciting.
I’m all grown up now!
Bringing your son or daughter along to choose the colors and the sizes will seem like a right of passage. He or she isn’t a baby anymore and gets to have his or her say in the design decisions. Buying new kids furniture usually means that the child is growing up. She knows that she doesn’t fit in her usual chair anymore, and replacing it with something she chose will make her smile at the very least.
You have the option to buy the non-painted versions of the usual chairs and tables, and turn the whole redecorating thing into an art project! Don’t buy any varnish or something that could harm your child. Buy the usual art supplies that are kid-friendly and just let your child paint away!
Expensive?
Here’s the pickle. Kids’ furniture and bedroom accents are expensive! They are a bit more pricey than the usual stuff because these are custom-made. Fortunately for bargain-hunting moms, most of the manufacturers have a discount furniture sale every once in a while to clear their inventory. So be on the look out for these sale events. Also, look out for neighboors with small kids.
They will need to dispose of their kids furniture soon enough to have more space in their homes. Garage sales are meant to attract those who don’t mind some exquisitely chosen hand-me-downs. If your neighbor or co-worker has very good taste in furniture, you’re in for a treat.
