Planning a Corporate Event if You’re a New Event Planner in a Big City

Categories: Events

Being involved in corporate events planning means thinking on your feet and conceptualizing the grandest, most amazing events… then putting the plans together. If you live in a big city like LV and have spent time looking for Las Vegas jobs online and on community job markets, this is another career path that you can consider.

Let’s say you’re an organized guy who knows everything about planning ahead and being responsible for everything that happens. There are still some things that you can learn just by being on the job.

Basically, corporate retreats are those well-funded events that aim to develop camaraderie among the staff members. It’s not all about going off in the woods and being men (or women) together; it’s also about being with friends who don’t talk much during a normal work day. Team building activities are ok in corporate events, but you have to make sure that everyone participates.

Now comes the tricky part. Everyone will participate, or even attend, if they have reason to. The lure is “fun” and the maintaining factor is “good food”. People will be concerned about the provisions and whether or not they can bring family.

Besides the fun of getting out of doors, these people crave a place far removed from the office environment. The venue has to be somewhere completely unrelated to work.

You can always stick with the classic style corporate events, which means good catered food, a few drinks for those who want it, and an informal symposium to discuss new leadership techniques. Souvenir corporate apparel to remember the event by could be shirts, mugs, sandals and bags. Events like these let people cut loose, without ever forgetting that they are dealing with their bosses and colleagues.
