Home Movie Party: Popcorn Flavors and Fancy Seating
Everyone loves to go to the the cinema house to relax, but with the soaring gas prices, traffics jams and the cost to watch one movie, watching movies the old way has lost its appeal. Going to the movie theaters every single day is definitely costly, but what if you want to have a movie party to celebrate an occasion. One movie buff will tell you that you can get bigger than life pictures and surround sound in your own home.
This is my idea for a home movie party:
1. Make the popcorn multi-flavored. You can use several popcorn shakers (any old container with a cover will do). Prepare different flavors: chocolate, butter, lite butter, caramel coated, cheese, pizza and sour cream.
2. Create personalized seating. Some home theatre seating, the good, plush kind, are expensive, but we can accessorize any love seat or divan to make it the perfect companion to that wonderful movie. You know how some people love to sit on the floor while watching a movie? You can use your old pillows to accommodate guests who love sitting on the floor with a tub of popcorn in front.
3. Your Home Theater System. Knowing the basics of a home movie theater set up in a small room is crucial. What part of the room has enough space to accommodate your television? The den, of course! Next, is your television set. The best size is 27″ and if you already have this, you only have to spend for the DVD player. If your player has progressive scan, great; but even without progressive scan, your good old DVD player will do.
Perhaps the most important components of a home movie theater are the home theater speakers. How many, you ask? You need three high-quality home theater speakers for your home movie theater; one on the right side, one on the left side and one on the rear center of the converted den.
4. Your Movie Collection
Depending on your guests, their age group and their preferences you can prepare the following movie genres: chick flicks, classics and sitcoms. I know someone who pulled off a successful “Friends” marathon recently (who else misses Chandler, Monica and Ross? How about Joey, the aggressive wannabe actor?).
Have your own home movie party now!
