Travel Time: How the Best Hotels Attract the Recession Tourists

Categories: Miscellaneous Posts

Let’s discuss the tourism industry now and see how the trusty ol’ hotel owners are doing now that the big companies are laying off employees and people are tightening their belts.

First of all, are there still tourists? Last time we checked, travel rates in some hard-to-get-to places are dirt cheap and tourist’s visas are being handed out without much ado. Yes, even the big countries need tourists who can afford to spend a significant portion of their savings on leisure trips.

How can a hotel attract the ‘recession tourists’ or those who are taking a break from being frugal, and traveling cross country or internationally for the summer or holidays?

Browsing through this catalog Dallas Texas hotels revealed that some of the age-old strategies still work.

  • Pets allowed
  • free internet access
  • exercise room
  • kids discount
  • nonsmoking rooms
  • free continental breakfast

It’s still a thriving industry, and those who can afford to go still go. Like someone said, “you only live once” and I add “if you spend too much time worrying about life, you won’t start living.”
