How to Decorate and Host a Tailgating Party

Categories: Party Venue

Tailgating parties are popular among sports fans (particularly those into motor sports). The fun part is, you don’t even have to be at the stadium, and you don’t even have to travel to the event itself to have your tailgating party. You can host your own at home, on your driveway, backyard or garage. Of course you have to make sure you have access to the television set to watch your favorite sports team win to throw an authentic tailgating party.

The decorations and the food you can serve should add to the atmosphere of casual laid-back fun. You can make ham sandwiches, tacos and nacho chips, BBQ and popcorn. Some people spend days decorating their cars and driveways by hanging sports paraphernalia (i.e. Ferrari parts, miniature models, and car stickers) in preparation for the party. Some even prepare contests and good-natured pranks to play on their guests.

To really enjoy your party, you must check your basic needs like water supply (for drinking and washing), emergency supplies (medicine etc), portable seating, and of course lots of trash bags.

Some people roast whole pigs in these types of parties to celebrate a team’s win or to mourn a lost championship title. The usual way, however, is to distribute packed lunches to your guests or to simply place all the food containers on the table buffet-style.
