If you’ve attended birthday parties as often as I have, you know by now that it’s pretty difficult to pick out gifts for adolescent girls. I’m talking about the young girls who are not yet fully grown up, but are no longer ‘young’ enough to accept barbies.

Adolescence is dream time for yung people. It’s when they start thinking about what they want to do with their lives and who they want to be when they grow up. If you want your children to keep on dreaming about being someone someday, give them things that they can use to fuel their dreams. For instance, if your child loves horses, you can buy equestrian apparel. If your child loves nature, you can get her a telescope of her very own greenhouse (in your garden).
2. Gifts that improve their sense of responsibility
Encourage your young diva’s love for animals by giving her a pet for her birthday. You can also use this time to build her a new room in your house (if she’s still using the nursery). You can get her grown-up furniture that she has to maintain and clean herself to prepare her for the responsibilities of adulthood.
