Two Important Asian Food Ingredients for an Asian Themed Party

Categories: Appetizers, Party Food Recipes

If you’re looking for a party theme to suit your natural food, vegan or dieters’ party, why not go for the Asian Theme? Most of the Asian dishes and recipes are suitable for dieters’ parties, as they contain miso, tofu and seaweed. These foodstuffs are staples in a dieter’s chiller, and for good reason. These are nutritious and can be used in a variety of dishes, such as appetizers and light soups.

Miso

Miso is created from fermented soybeans, barley, rice or other grains. Sold in most Asian stores, it’s the paste-like brown substance that people use to season their light soups and fish broths. Besides soups, miso can be used for sauces and dressings instead of salt. Like soya and other grain products, miso is rich in natural proteins, essential oil and minerals, and natural antioxidants (isoflavonoids). This is best served with a sour dish because the tangy taste of miso provides a good counterpoint for the sour flavor.

Seaweed

Nori is the seaweed of choice for sushi parties, but if you’re serving a sit-down dinner, you have to learn about wakame. Unlike nori, wakame isn’t used to roll sushi, but can be chopped and added to brothy dishes or salads. It can be stored in the refrigerator (fresh), or in the pantry (dried and sealed). Wakame seaweed is also a component of some of the widely used diet pills, such as Apidexin (if you’re interested, you can buy Apidexin from internet retailers).
