How to Throw a Party Like a Pro

The Techie Side of Things – Backing Up Your Party Designs Safely

Categories: The Business Side of Things

If you’re new to party planning, you probably won’t have this problem. But if you’re a seasoned veteran, I bet your hard drive is bursting with the many party planning files you accumulated over the years. Make no mistake of it, a single party invitation graphics file takes space. Now, multiply that file by the number of times you created a test copy to present to your clients and you know you have a digital files storage problem.

Of course, graphics files are smaller than video files, which you probably have a lot of too. These are just a few things that you have to deal with when you’re a busy party planner who has one business computer at home. You won’t dare delete these files because they might come in handy someday when you get a similar request from another client. Besides, you have spent hours creating that file, its a shame to throw them away.

There are two obvious solutions to your data storage problem. One’s to get a separate removable drive to back up your files, and one’s to avail of the services of an online data backup. I would choose the former, but then I have to hire someone to extract data, transfer and clean up the files regularly as the folders of data pile up. But I would choose the latter if I just want to clean out my PC without the hassle of buying hardware (this is useful if you need to clean your PC fast).
