How to Throw a Get Well Soon Party

Categories: Events, Party Quirks

If a friend of yours got in an accident or was sick for a time, a get well soon party is in order. Who doesn’t want some cheering up after going through a life-threatening situation? You can bet your friend will not be expecting the party, but will be flabbergasted with emotion and gratitude if you and a few more people come up with a great get well soon party.

When should you have the party?

Ideally, you can throw your party when your friend comes out of the hospital for recuperation at home. You and your friends can help him come home from the hospital… to a fabulous tea party at home. You can wheel him in to a living room full of well wishers, or you can have a big banner out front with the words “get well soon!” Either way, the recovering patient will feel happy that so many people are rooting for him to recover fast so he can continue living a productive life.

Unlike an ordinary party, you need to be extremely careful which food types you serve. As much as possible, get the details from his doctor and find out what type of food he can’t eat while he’s sick. Remember, you don’t want to trigger a relapse!

Who should pay?

The funds for the party must come from the patient’s friends. The party is a gift to the patient, so make sure everything from prep work to clean up is your responsibility, not his.

Remember, he might still be dealing with financial issues like money for medicine. If he was in an accident, he might still be facing some legal issues or he might be looking for legal help, like those offered by a Pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney.
