Don’t forget a main viand and some side dishes. scratch off the items that take too long to prepare and stick to the basics… deep fried finger food, raw fruits, salads, desserts and bread.
What activities are best for backyard parties?
The great outdoors holds many treasures that we can use in crafting, and you want to capture this ambiance when you’re holding a backyard party with kids around. You can encourage them to paint rocks, create leaf prints that your kids’ friends can bring home. For instance, leaf prints are easy enough to create. Here’s a recipe for crafting leaf prints.
Supplies you will need
* Paper
* Leaves
* Crayons
Lay a pretty leaf flat on the table, with the veins facing upward. Lay a piece of paper on top of the leaf, positioning it so that the leaf is where you want its impression to be. Peel the wrapper off of a crayon in the desired color. Holding the paper down around the leaf, gently rub the side of the crayon over the paper on top of the leaf. Reposition the leaf, or place another type of leaf under the paper and repeat with a different color. Continue to create a pattern, or just make rubbings at random to complete your work of art.
If your kids are not into crafting, you can try sports instead. Set up a mini-soccer field, or ping pong tables and let your kids sweat it out with their buddies. Just make sure you have a steady supply of water or juice to keep them hydrated.
