Home Party Ideas For Teenagers
If you have a veranda or a spacious backyard, there’s no reason why you can’t have a barbecue summer party every weekend. This is a particularly good idea if you have grown up kids (teeners) who love to hang out with their friends and school mates. Make your home more conducive to partying than any mall or ball park they often go to by setting up a “party-ready” ambiance for everyone to enjoy. Here are some ideas…
Two or more party activities
The usual way to go about this is to have a main activity and a couple of smaller activities prepared. For instance, you’re having a pool party but not everyone will swim. Give everyone something to do by installing a few foosball tables, which come cheaper than most indoor games (i.e. video games) but are a lot more fun for energetic teeners who need an outlet for all that energy.
Schedule your activities in the mid-afternoon or just after lunch time so that everyone can enjoy a whole day of fun and camaraderie. Scheduling a teenager’s party at this time will also keep you in good terms with the neighbors as teen parties are bound to be noisy.
A do-it-yourself sandwich or barbecue buffet table
The fact is, teenagers will feel more relaxed when there’s no adult watching their every move all the time. if you have a barbecue grill, prepare the marinated meats the night before and keep them in the ref inside plastic containers. Set up a table beside the grill and position the containers with a few tongs, plates and BBQ condiments. Your kids can cook their own food, while you come back every so often to check the grill or to help out.
You can also set up a sandwich table, near the oven toaster. It can be an instant tea party, or the teeners can just hang out around the table and munch on the sandwiches you prepared. You can do the same set up as the BBQ table. You can prepare the bread, cold cuts, cheese and the trimmings beforehand and serve them as is.
