Business Priorities for Party Planners
Setting up a party business is simple enough, especially when the profits start coming in. But what we call profit may be different from the profit that other businesses have. As a party planner, you need to have the capital for every party project that comes your way. Most of the time, the capital comes from the profit that you made from the past parties.
You can maximize your returns if you keep your priorities straight. Every time money comes in, you should set aside some of it for planning the next party. Use part of the returns to stock up on necessities such as stationery for invitations, materials for party favors and printer ink.
If you have waiters and other helpers, you should set aside contingency funds for when you have to pay them extra. Overtime pay is important for freelance waiters that only earn when there’s a party. You must understand that they are taking time off their regular jobs, or they may be using their days off work to help out in your project.
Once you have your priorities taken care of, you can start thinking about an Outer Banks vacation at the end of the year to reward yourself for a job well done.
