How to Throw a Party Like a Pro

Going Away Gifts for a College Freshman Leaving for College

Sometimes it’s difficult to guess what a high school graduate wants. Teens about to embark on a life challenge like college aren’t always easy to buy for. First, they may already have most of what they need if they’re all set to move away for school.

The safest things to give would be gift certificates, gift cards, or cash. A player which they can use to play all their music is also recommended, but they probably have gadgets that do this for them and more. Clothing is a good option. Dormers often change their clothes, especially because they find it difficult to do laundry.

Unless you want to surprise your freshman, ask. What they’ve been saying may give possible hints about what they would like to receive. You probably know enough about your child to know what he or she likes. Your child may have a hobby or you’ve seen particular items that point to a hobby.

Still afraid you’ll get it wrong? Sometimes, it’s also good to not be too creative and stick with the things that you know everyone needs, like a leather wallet, sunglasses and a water canteen. Sentimental teens would also appreciate a scrapbook and a digital photo frame. An alarm clock is also a good idea. Any student would love to have several to spare just in case their old ones bonk out.
