Hi. I’m Mel and I write on this site, My Party Agenda.

I spent my whole life watching my folks prepare dish after dish for serving to people during weddings and other occasions. My earliest memories were the smells of chicken being grilled and silverware clinking in the dishwasher.I have been promoted from kitchen sink staff to buffet disher girl when I was twelve. At sixteen, I was head waitress. I took a break from the catering scene because I had to attend college and learn how to market businesses. Although a corporate career in an advertising firm was very attractive, I went back to help my folks run the business.

But we believe in the principle that a child with entrepreneur parents should venture out in a separate but related business, and so here I am. Learning about the life of the busiest people in the world.

Like you, i am a struggling party entrepreneur who wants to create the perfect party! I will share some of my discoveries on the basic how-to’s of party planning, tips and the works that will make that party stand out and be talked about for years to come (until the next big party we dish out, of course).

Where to start, so much to do… so little time. Join me as i struggle to be a pro at partying and party throwing. Crossing my fingers as I hope to soon be able to throw the perfect party at will!
