A Serious Note: Partying That Means Trouble

We have all seen the gory details of Lohan parties that don’t go well, or Britney outbursts that get feasted on by the media and talked about over coffee all over the planet. The most heartbreaking about these stories is that we have seen these women grow up on screen. They are the little girly girls who get famous overnight and become the ladies who are in raving media nightmares today.

And people blame it on the parties.

It’s easy to lose one’s self in a party. Somehow, the lights and the “anything goes” atmosphere create the delusion that it could go on forever. Some celebrities who have the cash to splurge just to be in the right party places can’t be stopped from thinking that normal partying is for the regular people, and their brand of partying should be filled with a more brilliant kaleidoscope of colors. And so, they go for harder drinks and the so-called ‘party meds’.

Unlike the rest of us who need to becareful what we drink and consume to avoid mishaps, these celebrities are mistakenly comforted with the fact that they can afford even the most expensive drug rehab programs.

Under these programs, the party people who get hooked on these party meds will be treated in private, so that no one will be able to see their pain. Some of these rehab centers have facilities that cater specifically to these celebrities. The problem is, even with these drug treatment options at their disposal, they continue with their junkie lifestyles and couldn’t care less what others think.

There are parties that inspire fun and excitement, but it is still up to the party goer if she decides to go overboard with the fun. These people are not addicted to parties, they get addicted to their delusions of meds-induced fun.

My Party Agenda dot com’s reminder to would-be holiday party goers:

Party hard, but party safely.

The Holidays are Coming: What’s Your Diet Plan?

Isn’t it ironic that women sometimes associate holidays with over eating? It seems that time flies and the “I’ll start my diet tomorrow” that we’ve been saying to ourselves during the rest of the year is catching up to us. Do family holidays always mean bine eating? The answer is, only when you let it.

Holidays mean parties, whether there’s a general occasion or not. People come over for thanksgiving, or for sports TV watching. If you are the one throwing the party, even with a party planner in tow, there are so many things that need to be done and these don’t require you to be holding a plate all the time. Fact is, it’s a lot easier to lose weight over the holidays if you concentrate on working during the holiday party than actually eating.

Here are some tips on how not to over-eat in your own party

1. Let others taste your cooking - Those small bites add up. Unknowingly, party planners and caterers eat several plates of food during parties — the first during cooking and several ones during the party itself.

2. Eat your fill before the guests arrive - Food is more delicious looking when you’re hungry. Eat a morsel each of the food you prepared and concentrate on serving the guests during the party itself.

3. Volunteer to man the Kids’ playpen rather than the buffet table - Dealing wih the kids’ activities during a big party means standing up, running around and spending a lot of your energy on keeping the toddlers behaved (and their parents sane).

4. Pack the leftover cake asap - Your family knows where to find it when they want to eat more, and keeping the cake on the kitchen table while you’re cleaning up means taking a small bite, then another… and then that one… last… bite. Resist temptation and give the cake away to those who want to eat more. Keeping it with you when you’re tired from all the activities could be anti-weight loss.

The Dream: Why Persist in Business

Everyone has a goal, a long term or a short term one. Businesses are fueled partly by money, and mostly by inspiration. For the longest time, partygirl’s dream has always been to travel. She hopes to go to France with her older sister and stay at Hotel Paris for a time until they both have their fill of the wonderfully romantic city.

While France is the long term dream, building a solid financial foundation for a future family’s well being is the short term one. Or if you go for extremely short term goals, buying, a branded bag. :)

No matter what your dream is, the good thing about it is that you do have one. It will propel you further, make you stronger and make your business more productive.
