Event Tasks
My Job Description
If you’ve used the phrase “that’s not my job” in the past, in an office setting perhaps, better delete that phrase from your vocabulary now. In an event, everything is your job. Being the fall guy for things that fail means rising up to the challenge of not letting anything fail. These are just some of the areas you have to cover.
1. Budgeting
2. Establishing dates and alternate dates
3. Selecting and reserving the event site, acquiring permits, and coordinating transportation and parking.
4. Developing a motif for the event
5. Arranging for speakers and alternate speakers, coordinating location support (such as electricity and other utilities), arranging decor, tables, chairs, tents, event support and security, police, fire, portable toilets, parking, signage, emergency plans, health care professionals, and cleanup.
